A five o’clock afternoon wedding ceremony on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Cunningham C.M.E. Church in Rayne will unite in marriage Patrice Melanie Francis of Rayne and Peter Gerard Skinner of Patterson. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Evelyn Young of Rayne and Coy Francis of Dallas, Texas. Her grandparents are Josie Allen of Rayne, the late Walter Prejean, Annie Mae Francis of Rayne, and the late Walter Francis, Sr.

She is a 1999 graduate of Rayne High School, 2002 graduate of Louisiana Technical College with a C.N.A., and is currently employed by Red Roof Inn.

The prospective groom is the son of Barbara Veal of Patterson, James Skinner of Morgan City, and stepson of Steve Veal of Patterson. His grandparents are Orelia Skinner of Morgan City, and the late Elijah and Mable Hilliard of Patterson.

He is a 1996 graduate of Patterson High School, 1999 graduate of Louisiana Technical College in business, and is employed by Seahawk Drilling

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Rayne.
