LAKE CHARLES -- Briefs, bikini or thong - the style apparently didn’t matter to a man accused of stealing dozens of pair of underwear out of dryers at an apartment complex here.

Calcasieu Sheriff’s deputies said they went to the complex on McNeese Street on Tuesday after a woman complained that multiple pairs of her panties were stolen from a dryer.

She told deputies another woman who lives in the complex also had some of her panties stolen from a dryer.

The investigation led deputies to conduct a search of Michael Kohl’s apartment, where they found more than 40 pairs of women’s panties in his bedroom.

Kohl, 51, was booked on theft charges.
