Prep Roundup: CHS Ladies blank St. Edmund

CROWLEY – The Crowley Ladies broke loose for nine runs in the fifth inning and walked away from Hensgens park with a 10-0 victory over St. Edmund Tuesday afternoon.

The Ladies (5-1) had six hits in the final frame when the game was halted due to the mercy rule.

Skylor Huval led off the frame with a triple and Heather Trahan, Katelyn Killmer, Megan Guidry and Maddie LeBouef each followed with RBI singles. Whitney Senegal plated a run on a misplayed ball on the infield before another run crossed the plate on a balk. Bailee Villejoin then tripled and scored on Olivia Boullion’s sacrifice fly to end the contest.

Boullion earned the victory on the mound after giving up two hits in five innings. She struck out five.

Lady Pios outlast Kaplan

CROWLEY – Notre Dame’s Zoie Lavergne pounded out three hits and drove in four runs to help lead the Lady Pios to a 12-6 victory over Kaplan Tuesday at Hensgens Park.

Taylor Boulet drove in two runs with two hits, including a home run in the first inning, and Alexa Thibodeaux plated two runs with a double. Allie Daigle also had two hits, including a double and an RBI while Brittany Nolan and Harley Bellard each had a single and an RBI.

Mira Lavergne got the start on the mound for the Lady Pios and gave up two runs on three hits and six walks in four innings. She struck out two. Mollie Stelly pitched the final three innings, allowing four runs on two hits and three walks. She struck out five, including the last three in order in the top of the seventh.

Pios rally past Opelousas Catholic

CROWLEY – Notre Dame rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth to slip past Opelousas Catholic, 5-4 Tuesday evening.

The Pios (1-3) loaded the bases in the bottom of the sixth and scored two runs on wild pitches and one on an error to earn the victory.

Kyle Habetz earned the victory after giving up two hits and striking out four in 2 1/3 innings of work. Royce Zaunbrecher was credited with the save.

Sam Veillon doubled and Brad Stoma, Dillon Gilbert, Brennan Corzine and Clint Faul each had a single. Shea Zaunbrecher, Kevin Frank and Jeff Daigle each had an RBI.
