With three weeks left in the 2010 Crowley Post-Signal Football Contest, it looks as if Don Kernan is well on his way to claiming his third straight overall title.

Kernan holds a four-game lead over both Kye Canty and Doug LaCombe with just 46 losses and he holds a six-game advantage over me.

However, Canty and LaCombe both gained a little ground on the leader last week.

Canty took top honors by becoming the first person in recent history to go undefeated, choosing the correct winner in all 18 games. LaCombe took second place by virtue of the tiebreaker after dropping three games.

Again, space is limited so it’s on to this week’s picks.

First, I’m going to stick with the two local teams.

Notre Dame is on the road but I don’t think Independence will give them much of a game for more than a quarter. I’m thinking the Pios take this one by 21 or better.

Crowley High, however, is facing a stiff challenge in No. 9 Carroll. I have a feeling this one is going to come down to the wire in a wild shootout. I’m taking the Gents in a tight one.
