Leroy—A Mass of Christian Burial for R.C. (Ray Claby) Terro, 72, of Indian Bayou will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Leroy, LA. Father Gregory Simien will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Indian Bayou Cemetery, Indian Bayou, LA.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, LA, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home.

Mr. Terro passed away on Sunday, June 03, 2012 in his Indian Bayou residence.

A native and lifelong resident of Indian Bayou, Mr. Terro retired from many years of service as a school bus driver for Indian Bayou School and North Vermilion School. He was very active in the community, having been a member of the Rayne Jaycees. Mr. Terro also gave of himself by teaching chess and coaching basketball for the children at Indian Bayou School.

Mr. Terro was a man of many interests. He raised cattle, which led to his membership in the Cattlemen’s Association. He also raised border collies, and belonged to an association of those who shared that interest. He loved race horses, fishing, playing cards and dominoes, and spending time with his family and friends.

A man of strong faith, Mr. Terro was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Leroy.

Survivors include his wife, Margorie Spell Terro of Indian Bayou; daughters, Belinda Mooney and husband, Pat of Richmond, TX, Colleen Stokes and husband, Mike of The Woodlands, TX, and Lonna Terro of Lafayette; son, Buryl Terro of Atlanta, GA; sister, Rudell Prejean of Duson; grandchildren, Joshua, Jarred, Jordan, Jacinta, Joy, Gianna, and Justin Mooney, Shannon and Logan Stokes, Hailey Bergeron, and Jake and Ashton Sonnier.

Proceeding Mr. Terro in death were his parents, Claby and Irene Bordes Terro; and sister, Juanita Louvierre.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home, LLC of Rayne.
