RHS sets sign-up, ID photos days

School will open for students at Rayne High School on Aug. 13, announces Principal Bobby Hamlin.

Those students who will be entering Rayne High for the first time, and who did not register in the spring must register in the guidance department on Monday, Aug. 2, through Wednesday, Aug. 4. This does not include students from Mire, Branch and Armstrong Schools who registered in the spring.

New students are reminded to bring their birth certificates, immunization records, Social Security card and last year’s report card with them when they register.

All students taking student identification pictures must wear school uniform shirts and have hair groomed according to parish dress code rules. No large earrings or multiple pierced earrings will be allowed. Boys may wear only one earring and must be clean shaved. No hats or other head wear will be allowed.

Student identification cards for RHS students will be made in the school’s guidance department on Monday, Aug. 2, through Wednesday, Aug. 4. Identification cards are required and are necessary for entrance to various school activities.

The cost of the ID card is $6 per student if taken Aug. 4-6. If a card is not made on any other days, the cost will be $10. Replacement cards, due to loss or damage, will cost $10. Replacement lanyards will cost $2.

Other items, such as P.E. uniforms ($20), yearbook ($40), RHS spirit shirt ($7), and other RHS paraphernalia, will be available for purchase. Separate payments are required for each item.

Checks must be made payable to Rayne High School for the amounts listed.

The following schedule will be followed for ID photos and cards:

Sophomores & Special Ed (10th graders): Monday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 amd 12:30 to 3 p.m.;

Freshmen: Tuesday, Aug. 3, from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.;

Juniors: Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m..; and

Seniors: Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

New students are urged to follow this schedule.

Parking permit application forms will be available for students Aug. 2-4. Permits will not be sold those days, but after classes begin. All students driving to school must purchase a parking permit by Sept. 10 for $10. Permits will cost $20 after Sept. 10.
