In his announcement, Miller said, “I was born here and raised here. After high school I worked construction, served in the army for two years, went to Southwestern Louisiana Institute (University of Louisiana at Lafayette now), graduated and then worked for Mobile Oil before moving back home to work for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty years.
During the years I have been a councilman, we built a new sewer treatment plant, added curbside parking on Duson Ave., paved many streets, and improved our drainage system. Presently a new water treatment is being built to give Iota residents more and better-treated water. Many other improvements were made in the twenty years I have served our town.
I am 78 years old, married to Audrey Miller and I am a father, stepfather, grandfather, and soon to be a great grandfather.
I ask you for your vote on October 2, 2010 and I promise to do my best for you.”
