“I will work for the needs and improvements of Ward 3 and I will work with the Crowley City Council for the needs of the citizens and will work with the public to better our community,” Batiste said.
Batiste is married to Dorothy Francis Batiste and they are the parent sto seven children, Byron, Starlet, Jerome, Tracy, Jarrod, Johnus and Derrick. They are also grandparents to 29 and great-grandparents to six.
Retired after 45 years at Crowley Grain Drier, Batiste currently works for the Acadia Parish School Board as a crossing guard at Crowley Middle School.
He is a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church where he was recipient of the 2005 Black History Award. He is also a member of Knights of Peter Claver Council 51 and he also volunteers with “Christmas in April” where he volunteers his time to help repair homes in the community.
