Johnny Mathis, 47, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison following his guilty pleas Wednesday to charges of interfering with the right to fair housing and u
sing a firearm during a crime of violence. His sentencing by U.S. District Judge Dee Drell in Alexandria is set for July 28.
Mathis' victims weren't harmed in the shooting. Prosecutors said the victims fled into nearby woods after Mathis opened fire at their home and then entered the residence with his firearm on June 15, 2008.
