The Rayne High Wolves hosted Northwest High School Tuesday evening when they dropped their district slate to 3-2 with a 57-54 loss to the Raiders.

With a slim 27-21 lead coming out the halftime break, the Wolves’ lead declined as the Northwest offense dumped in a 20-point third quarter to take a lead.

A 15-point fourth quarter was not enough for the win as the Raiders captured the 57-54 district win.

Northwest was led by Kenneth Hicks with 17 points.

Rayne High’s Lacy Granger had a game high 24 points, in addition to 13 points by Robert Butler and Michael Henry with 10.

Wolves 34

Eunice 35

The Wolves traveled to Eunice FRiday where they tried to improve their district slate against the Bobcats.

With a slim 30-26 lead heading into the last quarter, the ballgame seemed to finish with a tied score at 34-all. But, a Eunice player was fouled while attempting a last-second jump shot. Because of the foul, Euncie was given two free throws, making one for the 35-34 district win for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats were led by Trenon Trosclair and Shon Edwards, each with eight points.

The Wolves were led with 15 points by Lacy Granger. Dannie Harmon and Ian Papillion each chipped in six points while Robert Butler donated five.

Lady Wolves

The Rayne High Lady Wolves hosted Northwest Tuesday evening in the thick of their district race.

Despite a good start, the Lady Wolves fell 60-50, bringing their district slate to 3-2 and 14-10 overall.

Friday Action
