The robber is believed to be the same man who earlier robbed the First National Bank in Crowley.
Doors to the lobby of Rayne State Bank were locked as Rayne police conducted their investigation.
Chief Stelly indicated he would issue more details and release a video image of the suspect Thursday afternoon.
