MONROE – Police searched but were unable Thursday to find a pregnant escapee.

The search just off Martin Luther King Drive isn’t for a missing inmate.

It’s for a 25-feet-long, yellow-and-white, pregnant python.

And it’s unknown whereabouts have residents jittery.

Police said the serpent belonged to an unidentified resident. Information on how it got loose was not available.
