CROWLEY - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Rita Roy Begnaud, 84, who died January 1, 2011 at Lafayette General Hospital.

Fr. Jared Suire officiated the services. The family requested visiting hours to be held Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Ginger Charles and her husband, Carlton of Pineville, and Geraldine Dupont of Crowley; three sons, Aris A. Begnaud, Jr. of Daphne, Ala., Jerry Begnaud and his wife, Lori of Poland, Ohio, and Jesse Begnaud and his wife, Donna of Crowley; three sisters, Verna Campbell of Lafayette, Joyce Stockstill of Lafayette, and Anna Short of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.

Ms. Begnaud is preceded in death by her husband, Aris A Begnaud, Sr.; one son, Christopher Begnaud; her parents, Alexander and Solange Lormand Roy; and four brothers, Harold Lee Roy, Ivy Roy, Emery Roy, and an infant brother.
