Before entering the Rayne bank at 200 South Adams Avenue the suspect presented a teller at First National Bank in the 100 block of North Parkerson Ave. in Crowley with a note demanding money Crowley Police responded to Crowley bank at 9:37 a.m.
He is also being sought by Sulphur police for a bank robbery in that community in April.
Rayne, Crowley and Sulphur police compared security videotape images to confirm the same man committed all three crimes.
All agencies are working with one another on these investigations. Judging by the cities which are being targeted, police believe that their suspect possibly lives somewhere along I-10 in the southwest part of the state.
In the Crowley bank robbery attempt, after presenting the note demanding money, the suspect fled the scene without any currency. He reportedly fled on foot and escaped in an unidentified vehicle.
The Rayne State Bank teller compiled with the robber’s demand and the suspect fled on foot heading south on S. Adams with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as a white, male, believed to be in his 40’s. He has short hair with a medium build. He is wearing a dark color hat which is believed to have the Miami Heat team logo on it. The suspect was also wearing sunglasses, with a dark colored shirt and cargo type khaki shorts.
