The bride is the daughter of Mike and Charlene Reynolds of Roberts Cove. Her grandparents are Mrs. Ambrose Olinger and the late Mr. Olinger of Roberts Cove, Mrs. Olen Reynolds and the late Mr. Reynolds of Crowley. She is a graduate of Rayne High School and received a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Denise Hodges and the late Jesse Hodges, Sr. of New Orleans. His grandparents are Mrs. Robert Hatcher and the late Mr. Hatcher, Mrs. Haynes Ragas and the late Mr. Ragas, all of New Orleans. He is a graduate of De La Salle High School and attained a bachelor’s degree in health and wellness promotion from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Upon he completion of graduate studies at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, he is currently attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida.
Ushering guests totheir seats for the ceremony were ushers Joshua Monroe, Richard Abarr and James Linn, friends of the groom.
Providing musical selections were organist Alberta Lyons, vocalist Aria Mason and Musicians Neil Simon and Tommy Benoit.
Scriptures were recited by Susan Olinger, aunt of the bride. Gofts were offered by Laura Ledkins, aunt of the bride; Lacy Picou, friend of the couple, and and Larry Cramer, godfather of the bride.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore strapless white trumpet gown featuring all-over draped taffeta, utton-up back, and sweep train. A simple hair comb held a fingertip veil with gathered crown edged with a beaded lace border and lace appliques. She carried a cascading bouquet of yellow calla lilies.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day were gold wedding bands of the bride’s grandfather tied in her bouquet as something old. A diamond necklace, a wedding gift from the groom was something new. Something borrowed was the bride’s mother’s blusher veil, and something blue was a silver filigree cuff bracelet with a royal blue stone setting, a gift of the groom’s grandmother.
Attending her sister as matron of honor was Lucy R. Philip. Bridesmaids were Mary Reynolds and Sara Reynolds, sisters of the bride, along with her friends, Celeste Fontenot, Bailey Wirth and Lauren Bexley.
Bridal attendants each wore a sleeveless, tea-length dress of juniper taffeta featuring a ruched empire waist. The V-neck and back was completed with a tie to the back. Each carried a daisy nosegay accented with sheer satin yellow ribbon.
Serving as flower girl was Madelyn Cramer, daughter of the bride’s godfather. She wore a white satin dress designed with scalloped organza layers over a full skirt gathered with a matching sash. She carried a white crotched basket created by the bride’s mother and trimmed with satin ribbon and pearls and filled with daisies and baby’s breath.
Attending the groom as best man was a friend, Ronald Seimssen. Groomsmen were Justin Hondroulis, Travis Meaux and Richie Bernard, friends of the groom; John Reynolds, brother of the bride; and Christopher Guidry, friend of the couple.
Male attendants each wore a formal black tuxedo with black shirt and vest along with a teal tie. The lapel held a single daisy boutonniere.
Serving as ring bearer was the groom’s cousin, Peyton Harrell. He wore a formal black tuxedo with black shirt and white vest and tie. He was also presented a daisy boutonniere.
For her daughter’s wedding, the former Charlene Olinger wore a sleeveless, sapphire gown designed with a Vi-neckline, a gathered front detail, and flowing floor-length skirt. She was presented a corsage of daisies and seeded pearls.
The groom’s mother, the former Denise Ragas selected a royal blue, floor-length, mock, two-piece dress featuring a portrait neckline, three-quarter-length sleeves, and side ruching with a jeweled broach detail. She was also presented a daisy and pearl corsage.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the St. Leo IV Parish Hall in Roberts Cove.
Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a four-tier almond confection with strawberry filling trimmed with cascading fondant bows and topped with a “Precious Moments” bride and groom figurine. The cake was served by the bride’s godmother, Marilyn Habetz.
The groom’s cake was a two-layered yellow confection with fondant trim. The cake theme was a Halloween decor, his birthday, and the chiropractic field. The cake was served by Donna Duhon, the groom’s godmother.
In addition to local and area guests of the Acadiana area, family members and guests attended from Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Ragley, Texas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Colorado and Maine.
Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple’s now residing in Port Orange, Fla.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, June 25, at Maison d’MemoirBed and Breakfast in Rayne. The five-thirty afternoon social was hosted by the groom’s mother with guests enjoying roasted walnut salad, roast beef short ribs in pinot noir sauce, green beans, sweet potato souffeé, and bananas Foster creme brulee.
