MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Behind a season-high 19 hits and a complete-game, three-hit shutout from Crowley’s Austin Robichaux the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team grabbed its first Sun Belt series victory since Easter weekend with a 14-0 win over Middle Tennessee in game two of a Saturday doubleheader at Reese Smith, Jr. Field.

Seven different Cajuns posted multiple-hit games and Robichaux retired 13 of the final 14 Blue Raiders he faced as Louisiana (23-27, 11-16) completed the doubleheader sweep.

Robichaux, a former Notre Dame standout, struck out six in earning his second victory of the season.

Ryan Leonards, a former prep teammate of Robichaux, had three hits, including a double, and two RBI on the day.

Earlier in the day, the Cajuns broke a 3-all tie in the fifth inning with a Dylan Butler home run and went on to claim game one 10-4 to set up the rubber match.

The game two win, which ended in the seventh inning by the mercy rule, snapped a string of four consecutive Sun Belt series losses for UL and put the team back in the running for a spot in the upcoming Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Louisiana wraps up Sun Belt Conference play next weekend hosting in-state rival La.-Monroe Thursday-Saturday, May 17-19 at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field. Both the Cajuns and the Warhawks will be vying for one of the final spots in the SBC Tournament.
