A gathering of family and friends of Ronnie Joseph Thibodeaux, 62, of Mire was held on Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne. A rosary was recited at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Thibodeaux passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 4:15 p.m. in his Mire residence.

A lifelong resident of the Acadia Parish area, Mr. Thibodeaux had worked for several construction companies, including Ashy Construction, Tanner Construction, and Soloco Construction. He was owner/operator of Thib’s Cajun Microwaves.

Mr. Thibodeaux was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he enjoyed RV camping with his friends and family. He saw the importance of carrying on the Cajun traditions, and did his part through his cooking, enjoying French music on KBON, and the dying art of the traiteur (treater). Mr. Thibodeaux will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Thibodeaux of Mire; former wife and mother of his children, Faye Hanks Thibodeaux; daughters, Sabrina T. Gotreaux and husband, Bubba, of Eunice, Samantha T. Leger and husband, Chris, of Eunice, Mary T. Pommier and husband, Hunter, of St. Martinville, and Sonia M. Baudoin and husband, Mitchell, of Mire; sons, Scottie Thibodeaux and wife, Stacey, of Eunice, Donnie Thibodeaux and wife, Tammi, of Eunice, John Matte of Eunice, Dallas Matte and fiancé, Michelle Black, of Mire, and Keith Smith and fiancé, Sarah Forestier, of Mire; sister, Elma Jean Courville of Texas; brothers, Dorsey Thibodeaux and wife, Bernadine, of Eunice, and Delton Thibodeaux of Church Point; grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, Christopher, Jacob, Spencer, Kelsi, Carter, Zoiee, Lilly, Hannah, Shyelah, Melanie, Sidney, McKenzie, Adelyn, and Kaely; and great-grandchild, Everitt.

Preceding Mr. Thibodeaux in death were his parents, Adam and Orelia Matte Thibodeaux; and brother, Howard Thibodeaux.
