ZACHARY – A Roseland man accused of murdering his girlfriend turned himself in to Zachary Police detectives early Wednesday.

Zachary police received a call from family members of Antwoene Irving, 32, saying he had possibly killed the woman and wanted to surrender.

Irving surrendered at a grocery store on Plank Road and informed police of where he had left the victim’s body.

ZPD detectives located the body of Kiewanna Sopsher, 33, of Roseland, in Irving’s car on Plank Road about a mile and a half north of Zachary.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Don McKey said the victim was abducted from her home Tuesday night, but it is unclear where the homicide took place.

The official cause of death will not be released until an autopsy has been performed; however, the case is being treated as a homicide, McKey said.

McKey said Irving is being charged with first-degree murder in East Feliciana Parish.
