Chief Greg Dupuis is negotiating with the man, who was seen waving a gun and threatening to do harm if he saw anyone.
Several SWAT units responded at 3 p.m. to the department's request for assistance as negotiations appeared to be going downhill.

Shortly after 1 p.m. Thomas came halfway out of the house and then went back inside.
Shortly before 3 p.m., Thomas pulled a gun on Dupuis during negotiations, which have now stopped. Officers have surrounded the area.
About 3 p.m., Thomas returned to the doorway and held a gun to his head.
