School Board overpays teachers by almost half million, now weighting options

FRANKLIN PARISH – An accounting mistake resulted in about $450,000 being mistakenly paid to employees by the School Board.

A pay supplement was essentially mistakenly doubled for certified teachers, giving them an extra $1,340 each.

The board has not discussed having teachers return the money as it reviews options available.

450K mistake? I'd say that such a mistake with taxpayer dollars shouldn't happen.
