Persons aged 60 or older and those 21 and older with documented disability can apply for Disaster Food Stamps in Eunice on Thursday, Sept. 18.

Those unwilling or unable to previously go to the single food stamp application center in Opelousas can apply between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday at the Southeast Community Center.

Ward 2 City Council member Marguerite Fruge-Simpson, who has worked at getting an office here since Hurricane Gustav struck on Sept. 1, said Parish President Don Menard and Parish HSOEP Director Lisa Vidrine assisted in getting the office established in Eunice.

It will be staffed by Cajun Area Agency on Aging.
