A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne, La. for Simon “Ta” Stelly, III, 45, who passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 3:17 p.m. at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette.

Fr. Kendal Faulk, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services.

The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne.  Visitation will continue on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Interment will be in the St. Joseph #2 Cemetery in Rayne.

Simon “Ta” Stelly III was born in Rayne, LA to Simon Stelly, Jr. and Lerline Soileau.

He is survived by one son, Ernest Stelly of Lafayette; one daughter, Pamela Stelly of Erath; three grandchildren, Emme and Hayden Stelly and Bentlei Morris; three brothers, David Allen Stelly, Sr. of Rayne, Brian Stelly, Sr. of Rayne and John Stelly of Rayne.

The pall bearers for the services will be Ernest Stelly, Brian Stelly, Sr., David Stelly, Sr., John Stelly , Bobby Credeur, and Timothy Savoy;   the honorary pall bearers will be Cody Soileau, Hayden Stelly and Bentlei Morris.

Mr. Simon was preceded in death by his mother, Lerline Soileau; two nephews, David “T.J.” Allen Stelly, Jr. and Caverick Dale Stelly and his great-grandmother, Edith Thibodeaux; one sister, Pamela Stelly.
