The bride is the daughter of Rodney and Wilda Simon of Kaplan and Dempsey and Shelba Parden of DeRidder. She received a Bachelor of Science at University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2007 and a doctorate of physical therapy in 2009 from the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, Fla.
Jessica is currently employed at Select Physical Therapy in Crowley as a contract therapist.
The groom is the son of Andreé Jimenez and the late John Jimenez of Houma. His grandparents are Alvaro and Billie Jimenez of Houma, Beverly Jimenez of New Orleans and Curtis and Betty Jo LeBeouf of Houma. He received a Bachelor of Science in exercise science in 2008 at ULL and received a doctorate of physical therapy in 2011 at the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine.
Escorted by her father, the bride carried a lovely bouquet of pink peonies with her grandmother’s rosary intertwined and a handkerchief from her aunt. Jessica’s gown, made by her mother, was of ivory ballroom silk with a rouched v-neck bodice and midrift. The back of her dress featured silk buttons leading to a chapel length train. Her headpiece was a graceful floor length illusion of French alencon beaded lace.
The bride’s traditional items were symbollic. Representing something old, Jessica’s grandmother’s rosary in her bouquet; her wedding dress was new and she borrowed her mother’s pearls. Representing something blue, the couple’s wedding date was discreetly monogrammed into her wedding dress.
Serving as Jessica’s maid of honor was her sister, Amy Simon. Her bridal attendants were Ashley Dujmov and Katherine Prevost, friends of the bride and Kristy Jimenez and Heather Robichaux, sisters of the groom. They wore Jim Hjelm collection A line, tea length gowns of pear silky taffeta. Each bridesmaid carried five calla lilies.
The best man was Andy Dupre, the groom’s friend. Brothers of the bride, Lucas Simon and Wes Simon were groomsmen, as well as Ory Sellers, a friend of the groom and Casey Robichaux, the brother-in-law of the groom.
Ushers were Connor Simon, nephew of the bride; Jared Jimenez and Scott Jimenez, cousins of the groom; and Bill Prestridge and Rob Tuma and Dusty Fontenot, friends of the groom.
The flower girl was the godchild of the groom, Alexa Robichaux and Luke Michael Simon, godchild of the bride.
The mother of the bride, Rhonda Parden Simon, chose a light brown floor length v-neck beaded formal with a coordinating three-quarter sleeve jacket.
Andreé LeBouf Jimenez, mother of the groom wore a gray, knee length two piece dress with beaded detail on the jewelneck.
Both ladies carried three white calla lilies.
Musical selections were guitar and vocals by Tiffany Thibodeaux and Hunter Jon Lambert provided violin and vocals. Gabriel DeLeon played the trumpet. Scripture was read by Marion Hundley and Hal Nini. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Casey Simon, Ellen Ware and Hayden Simon.
Le Grand Hall in Crowley served as the site of the reception for the wedding party and the guests. Guests traveled from Mississippi, Florida and Alabama. The bridal cake was served by Brenda Simon, godmother of the bride. It was a four-tiered multi flavored cake with small pearl design embellishments, topped with fresh pink peonies coordinating with Jessica’s bridal bouquet.
The groom’s cake, served by his aunt, Gina Nini, was a chocolate cake with chocolate filling in the shape of the New Orleans Superdome.
After a wedding trip to Jamaica, Jessica and Chad will reside in Lafayette.
A rehearsal dinner was held on April 29, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. The Fezzo’s dinner was hosted by the groom’s family.
