The 2011 LA United Gold Softball Camp will be held Saturday, April 9, at Gossen Memorial Park in Rayne for softball players of all ages as announced by Coach Jason Gaspard.

The camp session one (9 a.m. to 12 noon) is geared toward offense and designed to improve the fundamentals and mechanics of hitting. Players will learn the swing and technique to become a better hitter.

Session two (1-4:30 p.m.) is geared toward defense and designed to improve the fundamentals and mechanics of fielding, throwing, pitching and running. Players will learn all techniques to become a better position player.

Registration is encouraged to secure a spot for the day-long camp. Cost is $50 per session or $80 for the entire day. Each player will need to be checked in by 8:45 a.m.

Each player needs to bring her own glove, helmet, bat, catching gear, knee pads, cleats, tennis shoes, sunscreen, batting gloves and lunch money. (lunch not included) Each player is responsible for proving own insurance.

LA United Gold Softball is an organization that prepares girls, mentally and physically, to play softball at the collegiate level.
