A frontal line packing heavy rain and high winds did minor damage in Eunice on Tuesday, but delivered more punch in Evangeline Parish.

Utility poles were snapped, power lines down, trees down and buildings damaged as the system moved through.

Liz Hill, director of Office of Emergency Preparedness, said damage was reported on the Oakdale Road and in and around Ville Platte, Mamou and Chataignier. She said residents reported a tornado on Lithcote Road.

Coming behind the storm line is a winter blow expected to put the area in a deep freeze through the weekend, with snow and sleet possible Friday.
