Sunday, the fifth named storm of the season, Ernesto, began to unorganize which now leads forecasters to believe it will remain a tropical storm only and make landfall at a more southern part of the peninsula.
As it continues its west-northwest track, it is now expected to make lanfall in Belize on Wednesday. It will then head across the peninsula into the Gulf before making landfall again in Veracruz.
Florence, meanwhile, remained its west-northwest track in the mid-Atlantic and is expected to curve north around the Leeward Islands and Virgin Islands. Meaning it should miss the Gulf of Mexico all together.
