Eunice Police arrested a teen who allegedly shot at a Child Street house with a stolen semi automatic.

On Sept. 28, police responded to reports of a house in the 200 block of Child Street struck by gunfire.

Subsequent investigation gave police two suspects and a residence inside city limits.

After obtaining consent to search, police recovered a Hi Point .40 semi-automatic handgun with a laser aiming device attached, hidden in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

The handgun is believed to have been used in the Child Street shooting, and will be sent to the crime lab for a ballistics analysis, police said.

The weapon is believed to have been stolen in Lafayette during a vehicle burglary late last year.

One of the residents, Ja’marcous Walker, admitted to the shooting, according to police.

Walker was subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal use of a firearm and criminal damage to property.

The second suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, is believed to have used the weapon to threaten several nearby residents, police said.

The juvenile was subsequently charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm and released into the custody of his mother.
