Funeral services will be held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. for Thelma Schexnayder Leger, 77, of Duson, who died Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in Rayne Guest Home.

Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.

Surviving are her four children, Carolyn Bourque and husband, Allen, of Broussard, Alfred “Al” Leger and wife, Liz, of Rayne, JoAnn Cormier and husband, Douglas, of Branch, and Harris Leger of Broussard; three brothers, Roger Schexnayder of Midland, Ravan Schexnayder of Rayne and Rayford Schexnayder of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Leger; parents, Clovis and Emilie Credeur Schexnayder; four brothers, Marvin Schexnayder, Pergy Schexnayder, Loicy Schexnayder and Rellis Schexnayder; and one sister, Joyce Stelly.

She was born Thursday, June 6, 1935, in Church Point, daughter of the late Clovis and the Emilie Credeur Schexnayder.

Friends were received from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, and from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11, at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
