VILLE PLATTE –Trials are scheduled June 16 for three men accused of kidnapping a woman from a Eunice nightclub, raping her and dumping her in rural Evangeline Parish.

The incident occurred on Aug. 15, 2010.

Two Eunice men allegedly pulled an intoxicated woman from her car on an East Laurel nightclub parking lot, raped her and dumped her semi-conscious in a ditch in Evangeline Parish.

The third is accused of joining up with the other two sometime after the woman was alleged snatched from the Daiquiri Shack parking lot about 2 a.m.

The victim was found by people on their way to church about 11 a.m. the same day.

She was wearing only a blouse and had visible signs of assault, reports indicate.

A fourth man allegedly intended to help get the woman home but was told by the two suspects that she was with them and they would handle it.

Bills of information were filed in November against Jon Hebert, 26, 300 Ida, Eunice; Stevin Lafleur, 21, 1867 Veteran Memorial Hwy., Eunice; and Jordan Manuel, 23, 5931 Vine, Chataignier, charing them each with second-degree kidnapping and forcible rape.

The penalty for conviction on either charge in Louisiana is not less than five nor more than 40 years, with two served without probation or parole.

All three men pleaded not guilty at their February arraignments. Other than discovery, no motions have been filed on behalf of either of them.

Manuel is the suspect who allegedly joined the other two after they left the club.

Records indicate that he received a DWI citation a week before the alleged kidnap-rape.

He was ticketed at 3:07 a.m. on Aug. 7, 2010 and also charged with speeding, open container and expired inspection sticker.

Lafleur appeared in Eunice City Court on Sept. 27, 2010 and pleaded not guilty to charges of disturbing the peace and simple assault.

On Oct. 25, he was sentenced to 20 days in jail on the disturbing the peace charge.

Lafleur in early 2008 was among volunteer fireman charged with starting fires on Sittig Road and Dude Road.
