According to State Police, Gheri Blood, 26, of St. Landry died when her pickup left Chicot Lake Road, struck a tree and overturned.
Blood, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected.
Police said her truck was northbound on La 3042 when it crossed the center line about 9 a.m. and traveled about 300 feet before hitting the tree.
