BUNKIE – A former Marine and Iraqi Freedom veteran died when ejected from his pickup truck Saturday morning.

State Police said Thomas McNabb, 32, of Bunkie was driving on La. 1176 east of La. 115 (McArthur Street) when his truck ran off the road in curve and struck a tree about 7:40 a.m.

McNabb was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected when the vehicle overturned, troopers said.

The former Marine served with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade 1/10th in Operation Iraqi Freedom during 2003.
