A six-thirty evening wedding ceremony on Friday, October 1, 2010 at The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire will unite Shanae Nicole Lavergne of Rayne and Brandon Dale Richard of Church Point in marriage. A reception will follow at the American Legion Hall in Rayne.

The bride-elect is the daughter of John and Angie Simon of Rayne and the late Rondale Lavergne. Her grandparents are Ray and Diane Richard of Rayne, the late Russell Bernard, and John and Joyce Simon of Rayne. She is a 2005 graduate of Rayne High School and is employed in Carencro by Delta Media Corp.

The prospective groom is the son of Jimmy and Priscilla Ancelet of Rayne and Gary and Ellen Richard of Arnaudville. His grandparents are Herman and Ivy Bellard and Linus and Deanny Richard, all of Church Point. He is a 2003 graduate of Church Point High School and is employed by Doug Ashy Building Materials in Rayne.

Following their wedding, the couple plans to reside in Church Point.
