Over the weekend, Rayne High’s wrestling team attended the Jacob McMillan Wrestling Invitational at Lafayette High School where they placed third behind Comeaux High and Teurlings High among 17 teams.

In individual matches, the following Rayne High wrestlers placed in their repsective weight class”

145 - Adam Menard placed second to East Ascension’s Thomas Turner.

152 - Shelby Thibodeaux claimed third place with a win over Micah Garrett of Parkway.

160 - Brennan Fonteot placed third over Jean Luc Guilbeau of Teurlings High.

171 - Trevor Carriere pinned Acadiana’s Nick Schwann for a first place finish.

189 - Billy Marcantel finished in third place with a win over Basile’s Nick Bertrand.

215 - Brennan McKnight placed third over Ulysse Mouton of Northside High.

As a team, the Wolves scored 137.5 points on the day.

Rayne High’s next wrestling action is slated for today (Thursday) in Lafayette at the St. Thomas More Duals.

The Wolves will host a quad meet on Tuesday, Dec. 28, for junior varsity members at the Rayne High north gym.
