Highlighting the Colonels’ ground attack was former Rayne High standout Andrew Wynn.
The 5-11, 170 lbs. wide receiver was part of an 86-yard, four-play drive that ended with Wynn’s 62-yard touchdown reception. It was the sophomore’s first career touchdown for the Colonels, and longest reception to date.
As a freshman with Nicholls last season, Wynn particiapted in four games with all action coming on special teams.
Wynn played a host of positions during his prep career for the Rayne High Wolves including punter, defensive back, running back and wide receiver. He helped guide the Wolves to a 9-2 finish and District Runner-Up honors in 2007 as a junior. He was named All-Parish at punter in 2006 and garnered All-District and All-Parish honors as a defensive back in 2007 and 2008. Wynn was also named All-District Second Team at wide receiver in 2008.
Wynn is the son of Bill and Mayme of Rayne, a 2008 Rayne High graduate, and is majoring in accounting.
