IOTA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Yvonne Marguerite Menou Bruchez, 98, who died Friday, January 14, 2011 in Iota.

Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota.

Mrs. Bruchez was fourth grade teacher at St. Francis Catholic School in Iota for 15 years and will be sadly missed by her family, students, and the community.

She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Orr of Decatur, GA, and Marguerite Bruchez of San Fransisco, CA; one son Raymond Bruchez of Florida; fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bruchez is preceded in death by husband, Raymond John Bruchez; two sons, Marcel Pierre Bruchez, and Jules Menou Bruchez; her parents, Jules and Julia Bourgeaux Menou, Sr.; and twelve siblings, Violet, Rose, Jules, Fernand. Blanche, Victor, Maurice, Roland, Julia, Marcelle, Juste, and Teekey.
