A golden wedding anniversary celebration was held in honor of Loretta and Pat Bordes, Sr. of Rayne on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The couple was married on June 8, 1963, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Mrs. Bordes is the former Loretta Courville, daughter of the late Walter and Estelle Courville. She is employed by Frog City Travel Plaza as a bookkeeper. Mr. Bordes is the son of the late Suzanne and Wilson Bordes, Sr. He is employed by Bordes Construction as a carpenter. Hosting the 6 p.m. social were the couple’s children and their spouses, Coty Bordes (Jena), Julie Lopez (Brad), and Pat Bordes, II (Jessica). The couple’s grandchildren are Andrew Bordes, Shelby Bordes, Cailey Morgan, Cy “Deuce” Morgan, Collin Morgan, Emma Lopez, and the late Trey Bordes. For the special event, Mrs. Bordes wore a floral blouse over navy slacks and was presented a white orchid corsage with gold accents. Her beau wore brown pants with a coordinating brown check shirt and white boutonniere with gold accents. The social was held at the home of Coty and Jena Bordes. The reception area was decorated with “50th Anniversary” decorations, along with floral arrangements of white lilies and roses with gold accents. The main reception table was centered with a special double-layer, two tier white anniversary cake noted with a gold “50” topper. The table also held a 50th wedding anniversary photo album and votives atop a gold tablecloth. Refreshments, provided by Fezzo’s Restaurant, included shrimp fettucini, fried catfish and coleslaw. Approximately 40 family members and friends attended the early evening social.
