BELTON RICHARD, along with other Cajun musicians, will be recognized during the Acadia Day Celebration here. Belton Richard, born in 1939 in Rayne, has been a very popular Cajun musician for decadesRichard was chosen to be one of the original members of the Cajun French Music Association’s Hall of Fame, established in 1997. He and several other Rayne musicians were recognized as the first to receive the Rayne-Acadia Parish Hall of Honor Signature Award in 2003. The event was sponsored by the Rayne Chamber of Commerce.
