MUSEUM RECEIVES DONATION - During an open house at Le Vieux Presbytere in Church Point on Thursday evening, September 2, at 6 p.m. a presentation was made to the museum by the Church Point Community Development Corporation in the amount of $2,500. Chris LeBas, left, president of the Corporation, presented the donation to Gene Thibodeaux. The Corporation, a non profit organization, was instrumental in building the Church Point Buggy Town playground. The organization sponsors a golf tournament and breakfast with Santa. The City of Crowley will be among those celebrating September as National Rice Month thanks to a proclamation signed Wednesday. Groups that witnessed the proclamation’s signing were the Acadia Parish Farm Bureau Rice ambassadors, USA Rice Federation members, local LSU AgCenter personnel and the Acadia Volunteers for Family and Community.
