LAFAYETTE -- Services will be Thursday for grocery owner Ruby Arceneaux. She died Nov. 8 at age 87.

She was owner of The Corner Pantry, which was the former A&W Drive-In.

Survivors include a son and a daughter.

Delhomme is in charge of arrangements.

Cattleman

NEW ROADS -- Services will be Thursday for cattleman and mill owner Jeffrey Smith. He died Nov. 7 at age 52.

Smith was owner and operator of Farmers Feed Mill and Smith Brahmans.

He was a member of the Louisiana Feed, Fertilizer and Liming Commission and president of the Acadiana District Livestock Board.

Smith was on the boards of the national and state Brahman Breeders Associations and was past president of the Maringouin Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife Tammy, three sons and a daughter.

Pianist

BATON ROUGE -- Services for pianist George Walter will be Nov. 17. He died Nov. 9 at age 80.

Walter was staff accompanist at LSU for seven years and taught piano at the university for more than 30 years and was organist at University Methodist Church for 30 years.

Survivors include two brothers and a sister.
