HAMMOND – Three men were arrested after a police stop uncovered over a pound of marijuana in their car that also featured a 3-year-old passenger.

Louisiana state police say that just before 9 a.m. Sunday, they pulled over a sports utility vehicle in Hammond that was impeding traffic. According to reports Monday, the troopers then received permission to search the vehicle and during that search they found about 1.3 pounds of marijuana inside.

The suspects, 27-year-old Brian Freeman of Tupelo, Miss., 21-year-old Brandon Baker of San Antonio; and Bradley Goree of Verona, Miss., were each booked with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The child was turned over to the Office of Community Services.
