IOTA – The Iota Lady Bulldogs got back on the winning track Monday with a 64-38 thrashing of North Vermilion.

Iota improved to 14-5 overall with the victory. North Vermilion fell to 5-7.

The Lady Dogs, coming off a 2-2 showing in the Sam Houston Tournament last weekend, caught fire early Monday, draining nine of 12 3-pointers in the first two frames to take a 34-12 advantage at the half.

Allison Baggett hit four long balls in the first half and went 6-for-8 from beyond the arch on the night to finish with a game-high 26 points.

Iota continued its tear in the third quarter, going on a 20-7 run before the reserves took the court in the final frame.

Madison Meche and Candace Sensat each hit double figures on the night with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Anna Lege pitched in six points and Caroline Hebert added five. Adalie Wriborg and Claire LeJeune each scored three.

The Lady Dogs began District 5-AA play last night against Welsh but results weren’t available at press time.
