JENNINGS - It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Wayne Dupuis, age 58 of Iowa (LeBlue Settlement), announces his passing on January 1, 2011 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital while surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Lyons Point on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mikel Polson officiating. The Dupuis family requested visitation be observed at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 2:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. and resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until the time of his services. A cursillo rosary will be recited on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Daniel will be laid to rest in Cossinadee Cemetery following his services.

Daniel Wayne was born in Crowley to Alfred and Hilda Beard Dupuis in October of 1952. He worked as a glazer installing glass. Daniel was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding horses, hunting, fishing, and drumming. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. Daniel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Leaving behind to cherish his memories are his parents, Alfred and Hilda B. Dupuis of Egan; his wife of 36 years, Deborah Thibodeaux Dupuis of Iowa; two sons, Gregory Dupuis and wife Melanie of Westlake and Brent Dupuis and wife Mindy of Iowa; two siblings, Michael Dupuis and wife Regina and Patricia ‘Trish’ Dupuis all of Egan; and six grandchildren, Calin, Tessa, Andrew, Dayden, Gracie, and Kierstn.

Carrying Daniel to his eternal resting place will be Michael Dupuis, Jonathan Dupuis, Calin Dupuis, Larry Thibodeaux, Frank ‘Poonie’ Hebert, and Albert Kibodeaux.
