High school scoring champ

PORT VINCENT -- Services were Monday for national high school basketball record holder David Cambre, Sr. He died Jan. 7 at age 74.

Cambre scored 5,814 points in his prep career at French Settlement High. He was a former Port Vincent alderman and retired from Carolina Freight.

Survivors include his wife Francis and four children.

Long-time coach

ZACHARY -- Services will be Wednesday for long-time teacher and coach Donald Moffat. He died Jan. 9 at age 80.

Moffat, a Korean War veteran, coached and taught math at a number of schools include DeQuincy High, Amite High, Jackson High, Zachary High, St. Francisville High and Catholic High, Baton Rouge.

He was a four-year baseball letterman and cheerleader at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Survivors include his wife Peggy, two sons and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Hartman-Harkey.

Broadcast personality

BATON ROUGE -- Services were Saturday for radio and television personality Alton Landry. He died Jan. 4 at age 60.

Landry, a track enthusiast who once ran from Baton Rouge to Boston, Mass. to enter the marathon there, was in radio and television in Morgan City and Baton Rouge and was also a professional arborist.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy and a son.

Dining Hall operator

ST. FRANCISVILLE -- Services were Monday for James Leming, operator of the Louisiana House Dining Hall. He deid Jan. 1 at age 74.

Leming was former owner of a food market. He began operating the legislative dining hall in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Betty and three sons.
