The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Laird of Tallulah, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Laird of Tallulah and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Geary Jr. of Vicksburg.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lecaster Leger of Crowley. He is the grandson of Lydia Bull and the late Charles Bull Sr., of Welsh and Mary Leen Leger and the late Norris Leger of Morse.
Altar flowers were placed in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Geary, Jr., Mr. Michael Edward Geary, uncle of the bride, Mr. Charles Bull Sr. and Mr. Norris Leger. Nuptial music was presented by Karen Harrison, organist, Larry Gawronski, cantor, and Riley Harper, soloist.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory dress of shantung silk with a strapless, scalloped neckline featuring Alencon lace. Asymmetrical draping shaped the A-line skirt with a chapel length train. Accenting the dress was a custom made cathedral length mantilla veil trimmed in matching Alencon lace with the bride’s monogram hand embroidered at the base. She wore a double strand of pearls borrowed from her paternal grandmother and carried a fall themed bouquet consisting of orange dahlias, flame colored calla lilies, celosia, roses and chocolate St. John’s berry. The bride’s rosary was intertwined in her bouquet.
Maid of honor was Suzanne Laird, sister of the bride of Winnsboro. Amanda Kelly Stein of Zachary, served as matron of honor. Both wore strapless, knee length A-line dresses of navy blue silky taffeta.
Junior bridesmaids were nieces of the groom, Nouria Koury of Rayne and Irena Weaver of Lake Charles. The junior bridesmaids wore sleeveless, ankle length dresses, also of navy blue silky taffeta. The bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids carried small fall bouquets similar to the bride’s bouquet.
Abbigail Koury, niece of the groom, also of Rayne served as flower girl. She wore a sleeveless, ivory tea length dress accented with a navy blue sash and matching headband. She carried a moss covered basket filled with orange rose petals.
Lucas Simon of Iota served as best man. Groomsmen were Robbie Broussard of Estherwood and Hunter Buchert of Beaumont, Texas.
Ushers were Reece Meyer, nephew and godson of the groom, and Clay Pierce, cousin of the bride. Scripture readers were Leo Singleton, III, godfather of the groom of Slidell; Matthew Christie of Houston, Texas; and Phoebe Bull, godmother of the groom of Welsh.
Presenting the gifts were Lauren and Alise Newman, cousins of the bride, of Dallas, Texas.
Special wedding director was Shirley Riddle. Casey Simon of Iota served as the bride’s proxy.
