The Gents (17-7, 6-0) took control early and led 54-20 at the break before outscoring the Rams 29-18 in the second half.
Jerrell Andrus led the Gents with 13 points. Danny Malbrough and Dorris Senegal each added 12 points and Dylan Montgomery followed with 11. Tuskani Figaro pitched in nine points and Davante Bourque scored eight.
Also contributing in the victory were Damon Malbrough with seven points; Kaleb Cormier with six; Andre Mills with three and Jesse Harmon with two.
The CHS Ladies (16-10, 4-4) weren’t as fortunate as they fell 73-48 to the Lady Rams.
Merecedes Rogers paced the Ladies with 17 points and Sara Woodard scored 14. Akeela Dugar followed with eight points; Tiara Dugar scored four; Isis Broussard added three and Vivian Barker finished with two.
In Iota, the Lady Bulldogs fell into second place in the District 5-AA standings with a 48-42 loss to Lake Arthur.
Iota fell to 23-7 overall and 8-2 in league play with the loss. Lake Arthur improved to 18-5 and 5-4.
Iota took a 20-18 advantage at the half and led 34-32 heading into the fourth quarter.
Lake Arthur rallied in the final eight minutes and outscored the Lady Dogs 16-8 to claim the victory.
Allison Baggett led the Lady Dogs with 22 points and Anna Lege scored six. Adalie Wriborg followed with five points; Madison Meche added four; Candace Sensat scored three and Caroline Hebert finished with two.
The Midland Rebels and Lady Rebels also came up short in district action at Hathaway.
The Rebels dropped a 46-42 decision to Hathaway in the boy’s game and the Lady Rebels fell 60-36.
Allen Fontenot paced the Rebels in the boy’s game with 14 points while Michael Primeaux and Alan Vondenstein each scored six. Andrew Hains followed with five points; Chase Vincent and Darren Arceneaux each scored four and Jake Gautreaux scored three.
Morgan Clement scored 16 points in the girl’s game while Katie Woods scored five. Haley Guidry and Melody Hebert each added four points while Hannah Fremaux and Katie Primeaux each scored two.
