MARKSVILLE -- The beating of a woman has turned into a charge of second-degree murder.

According to Sheriff Doug Anderson, Gail Borrell, 58, of 470 Robert Edwards Road in Marksville died Thursday of what investigators believe were injuries related to several beatings.

David Joseph Lachney, 55, of the same address was charged with murder.

Lachney had been charged with domestic abuse battery when deputies responded to a complaint at the pair’s residence on Feb. 3.

The victim was taken to the hospital on Feb. 9 by family members after becoming unresponsive, authorities said.

Maybe you shouldn't comment if you don't have facts.

Boy, you can always count on family, huh? Good of them to wait 6 days until she was unconscious or either dead to get help.
