Notre Dame to host annual Pioneer Invitational baseball tournament

CROWLEY – Class AAA’s defending state champion Notre Dame will play host to its annual Pioneer Invitational this weekend at historic Miller Stadium.

The three-day round-robin tournament officially kicks off this afternoon with three games on tap. Crowley High kicks things off against Erath at 3:30 p.m. University High of Baton Rouge will then take on Catholic High of New Iberia at 5:30 followed by host Notre Dame taking on St. Louis in the nightcap at 7:30.

Saturday’s action consists of four games. University will play in the first two contests, taking on Crowley at 10 a.m. and St. Louis at noon. Notre Dame will play Erath at 2 p.m. and St. Louis rounds out the afternoon session with a 4 p.m. contest against Catholic High.

Crowley High will take on Catholic High in the first game Sunday at Noon followed by a matchup between Erath and St. Louis at 2 p.m. Notre Dame will conclude the tournament at 4 p.m. against Catholic High.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
