The Church Point Volunteer Firemen are ready day and night to save lives and property. They are asking for your help on Saturday, March 19, the day set aside for the Church Point Volunteer Firemen's Chili Cook-Off.

The Cook-Off will be held at the old depot park (le Parc de Vieux Depot) on Main Street in Church Point.

All money received from the event goes to fund all aspects of the C.P.V.F.D. Budget cuts and unfortunate events have made fund raising particularly difficult this year as well as others.

The event was planned to involve the community, families, friends and businesses.

Divisions will be Original, Authentic, Best Decorated Booth and Fire Department Challenge. There will be public tasting. Bracelets can be purchased for $5.00.

There will also be a Jalapeno Eating Contest, $10 entry fee.

There will also be barbeque burgers, cold drink auction and beer.
