CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Northside Assembly of God, Crowley for Joseph Boyce “J. B.” Sarver, 72, who died Sunday, March 20, 2011 at 7:15 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Mr. Sarver was a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. Mr. Sarver became a licensed nursing home administrator in 1970 and later became co-owner of five nursing homes in Lafayette and Texas. He was a successful businessman with a generous heart. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and friends. He prayed the prayer of Salvation during this short illness and the family has received much comfort knowing he is with the Lord.

Rev. David Baudoin will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Mr. Sarver is survived by his wife of 51 years, Willie Belle Lyons Sarver of Crowley; four sons, Guy Sarver and his wife Cheree of Carencro, Greg Sarver and his wife Brenda of Crowley, Jody Sarver and his wife Missy of Scott, Jamie Sarver and his wife Julie of Lafayette; his father, Mims Sarver of Lafayette; four sisters, Gwen S. Petry and her husband Jeff of Crowley, Peggy S. Smith and her husband Jimmy of Rayne, Linda S. Foreman and her husband Glenn of Ridge, Terry S. Billeaud and her husband Danny of Scott; three brothers, Lonnie Sarver of Crowley, Danny “Bubba” Sarver and his wife Myra of Crowley, Don Sarver and his wife Sherry of Crowley; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other extended family and friends.

Mr. Sarver was preceded in death by his mother, Inez S. Sarver; and one grandson, Kanaan John Sarver.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Sarver, Jared Sarver, Cody Sarver, Trevor Sarver, Ryan Sarver and Kenneth Guidry.

The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of Lafayette General Medical Center for their compassionate care of Mr. Sarver during his illness.
