WW2 vet, attorney

LAFAYETTE – Services will be Thursday for attorney Bennett Voorhies, Jr. He died March 21 at age 85.

Voorhies was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus of Our Lady of Fatima. He was a founding member of the Marian Light Brigade.

A Tulane Law School graduate, he was a member of Voorhies & Labbe before opening his own practice.

Survivors include his wife Lenore and four children.

Arrangements are by Delhomme.
